Happy Irish Coffee Day!

Velo Irish Coffee

Classic Irish Coffee

  • 50ml Irish whiskey
  • 1tsp of brown sugar
  • 100ml of freshly brewed Velo coffee
  • 2-3 tablespoons of cream
    Irish Coffee West Cork Whiskey

Step 1: Fill glass with hot water, this heats the glass and ensures your Irish coffee stays hot – make sure a metal spoon is in the glass before pouring water as it’ll prevent it from cracking.

Step 2: Brew your coffee now – make sure it has time to sit and absorb all the delicious flavours while you carry out the next few steps. We recommend using our delicious Morning Fixie blend which has a rich dark roast that compliments whiskey beautifully.

Step 3: Pour the hot water out of the glass and pour in 50ml of Irish whiskey.

Step 4: Add in 1 teaspoon of brown sugar to the whiskey and stir until all granules are dissolved.

Step 5: Pour in the freshly brewed coffee into the whiskey and sugar mixture, leaving just enough space in the glass for the cream.Velo Irish Coffee

Step 6: Carefully add cream to top it all off – to get the cream to sit on top of the coffee, place the spoon upside down with the tip of the spoon resting on top of the coffee. Carefully pour the cream over the back of the spoon until the top is covered. Bonus points if you use freshly whipped cream.

Step 7: Enjoy! .. Oh and don’t forget to share to social media and tag us (@velocoffeeroasters) to let us know!

Garnish: Add a little sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg if that's your own preference! Spice it up a bit!
